stylish & unique London wedding venues to check out
Sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming when you start looking at wedding venues. As a London Wedding Photographer I’ve shot in a fair few London venues and I’m delighted to share some of my favourites that all bring something a little different to the table. From regal listed buildings near Regents Park, to traditional pubs in the heart of Clerkenwell this post sets out venues for a range of tastes and guest lists. So read on for my take on my favourite London venues.
Marylebone One
Located right next to Regents Park (amazing for couple portraits) and opposite Great Portland Street tube station, Marylebone One is a fantastic wedding venue if you are planning a large and stylish wedding. Formerly the Holy Trinity Church, it was built in the early 1800’s and is Grade 1 listed. There are separate rooms for the ceremony, drinks reception (the upstairs galleries that are beautifully, light and airy with parquet flooring and arched windows) and Soane Hall for the meal/evening reception. This venue can cater for 350 evening guests.

Belair House
Like Marylebone One, is a stylish wedding venue located in Dulwich, South London. The interior is bright and airy with wooden floors and gilded details everywhere. It’s located right on the edge of Belair Park, so great if you want something with a greener vibe rather than urban chic. The ballroom space is used for ceremonies and has the most beautiful white marble fireplace with gold gilded mirror above. A detail that’s repeated throughout – altho in the cocktail bar its a little more dark and edgy. It’s alot smaller than Marylebone One, with a capacity of 80 seated in the dining room but totally worth it. It’s few minutes walk from West Dulwich train station on the eastern line so super handy for guests although there is some parking on site.

The Peasant
The Peasant Pub is a Clerkenwell venue with all the London feels. It’s like a traditional London pub with cool modern twists. The walls are adorned with vintage band and movie posters and the vibe is just awesome. Like Belair House, it’s capacity limit suits a more intimate wedding with a capacity of around 80 guests seated for dinner.

Battersea Arts Centre
Battersea Arts Centre is a dream wedding venue, fancy and stylish with just the right amount of rustic thrown in for good measure. There are lots of options for ceremony locations including the marble staircase by the entrance, or the member’s library. But for me, it’s the council chamber that is the venues main attraction. Big and grand with huge windows and fantastic lighting, the room can hold 120 guests for dinner. Dame Vivienne Westwood is also a big fan of the theatre “Battersea Arts Centre is our local theatre and it was lovely to have our Christmas party in such a beautiful room. It’s great to support such an incredible theatre.” Located near Clapham junction it’s really well-connected transport wise too.

So while these are my current favourites, I have a bucket list of venues I would love to shoot at. These are totally my bag and are unique and quirky.
