One of my favourite venues in Cardiff, Insole Court is tucked away in extensive gardens in Llandaff, a few minutes from the Cathedral, Pontcanna Fields and the River Taff. It’s the perfect wedding venue for hosting ceremonies, or as its a few minutes drive from the City Centre, it’s ideal if you opt for a church ceremony like Anna & Pete did. The 1855 gothic Grade II listed mansion has an array of rooms and spaces to host ceremonies and dining as well as extensive grounds for lawn games. You might even recognise parts of the grounds and mansion from the tv series “A Discovery of Witches” which was partly filmed here.
Anna & Pete’s Insole Court wedding started with bridal prep at The Coal Exchangel Hotel in the bay before a ceremony at St Margarets Church in Roath. After confetti and family photos we made the short journey to Insole Court in a vintage red MK II Jaguar, accompanied by guests in a vintage red bus. Anna’s attention to detail was immaculate, from the stationery and flower crown she wore, to the flower arch at the church, through to the table settings in the drawing room at Insole Court, everything was perfect.
