Oh my goodness, where to start! Gina & Eddie wedding at Chelsea Old Town Hall and The Phene ticks so many boxes for the perfect summer wedding in London. As a photographer, London Weddings hold a special place in my heart, I love the urban backdrop, vibrant splashes of colour and the buzz. Everyone is always so happy! But London Pub weddings? They are even better! So I was stoked when Gina emailed me to say the feel of their day would be similar in many ways to Eilidh & Will’s wedding at the Peasant Pub.
Gina & Eddie opted to get ready together (well, at least until just before Gina put her Mywony dress on!) in a gorgeous AirBNB apartment at Cotswold Mews across the river in Battersea before crossing the Thames to Chelsea Old Town Hall to exchange vows.
Gina’s dress was finished off with a colourful and wild bouquet by Flo Jo Flowers, which brought together Protea’s and Thistles, a nod to South Africa and Scotland, Gina’s and Eddie’s home nations as well as nigella, aquilegia, peonies and anemones.
After the most epic and vibrant confetti throw on the steps of Chelsea Old Town Hall, we crossed over to Chelsea Fire Station for some portraits, I loved the way the red doors tied in with Gina’s red Jimmy Choo’s! What we really weren’t expecting through was for a firefighter to pop his head around those doors and ask if we wanted to get some shots in front of the fire engine. It’s not everyones cup of tea, but it was so quirky and colourful. And it couldn’t have tie in better with Gina’s pops of colour on her Silk & Purl ribbons and Jimmy Choo’s.
Afterwards to took the short walk along Oakley Street to the The Phene for a relaxed celebration with their closest family and friends. We couldn’t help but head back out closer to sunset, to walk down to the Albert Bridge over the Thames for sunset portraits.
Here are a few preview shots, I can’t wait to share more.
