A colourful and rustic spring wedding at Caerphilly Castle.
The beauty of Wales is somewhat underrated, including the numerous castles dotted around the landscape. Nestled away on the outskirts of Cardiff, Caerphilly Castle is no excepted. It’s an incredible rustic venue, similar in many ways to Caroline Gardens Asylum in London. It’s derelict in places and brimming with rustic charm. It’s screaming for couples to put their own unique style on it so I was excited when Laura and Rhys asked me along to capture their day. Laura’s style is unique and quirky so I have no doubt’s their wedding would be gorgeous. I was right, between an incredible silk and lace gown, beautiful daffodil bouquets, Gypsophila crowns for bridesmaids, and a yellow and navy theme, the wedding was full of with creative details.
Laura’s family are pretty artistic, and all got involved in making homemade seating plans, to paper pom-pom decorations and bunting. Not to mention catering provided by the bride and groom themselves with the staff from their restaurant The Pot to help out.
So many DIY details, combined with the friendliest family and most delightful and chilled couple ever made this a wonderful day.
Thank you they are beautiful…you were so unobtrusive I didn’t even realise half the photos were being taken! You capture every moment exactly how it was!
